Black and white is vibrant yet timeless, and one of our favorite color palettes for fall. We’re noticing it everywhere and in everything – from art, to fashion, to products, to interiors – and it certainly doesn’t stop there. In the realm of fashion, Marimekko creates playful graphic patterns that remain effortlessly chic in their joint collection with Banana Republic. In new and innovative products, Equipe Ceramics puts a fun twist on traditional geometric tile. Playing with black and white allows for quiet sophistication, or a bold and dramatic effect. We love how this palette mixes well with textured woods and can add depth and emotion to an otherwise quite room.
Since most trends begin in the art world, a few of our favorite Mid-Century Modern designers are featured our inspiration board. French industrial designer, Serge Mouille, hit the nail on the head with his striking lighting collection, and Andy Wahol’s Rorschch Series speaks volumes both visually and intellectually. Now in modern day, Lovisa Burfitt channels the same emotions through her whimsical fashion illustrations.
We are also head over heels for Fishs Eddy’s bold and zany Brooklyn Cawffee Tray! What’s been your favorite black and white moment? Let us know in the comments below!
